Once again I'm amazed at how God uses us to accomplish His purposes in the world. This week I am working the associational Christmas store counseling clients. So far this week I've led three ladies to Christ. In the past four years working at the store for one week each year, I've now led 21 people to the Christ of Christmas - WOW!
I was also looking over the amounts of mission money our church has given the last five years to missions and found an amazing number - over 101,000 dollars not counting this years amount of maybe 20,000. All that with less than 100 people in church. God is doing some amazing things in our midst.
Next year we are scheduling two trip to Alaska again. One for a construction project to Koffman Cove through Christian Sportsman International and the other for a camp for kids with AK Baptists. We will take ten or so to Koffman Cove and about the same on the other trip. But, don't wait on Becky or I to take you somewhere, listen to God and follow Him where He leads. Mission work has changed people lives forever - and I'm one.
The first mission trip I went on was to Venezuela in 1983. We led 82 people to Jesus and spent a week telling people about the greatest gift of all - Jesus. People's lives were changed forever.
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Bill

Greetings From Alaska!
I just browsed the blog, read today's entry and the earlier ones.
The slide show of the trip to Africa and your comments about fishing for God reminded me of how awesome it is to share the Truth with a person who has been prepared by the Holy Spirit (from seed sown by others), and to lead a person in prayer to receive Christ. There's NOTHING that this world has to offer that satisfies like being part of someone's road to Salvation.
This year I've been off work for over 7 months and in major pain for much of that time. I have had had little or no income. In September I had surgery and have a new hip. My mortgage company would not work with me during this time, and so my home (and $60,000 cash I had put down on it) has been lost. I could have lost that much in a retirement account if I had one :)!
Throughout these bumps in the road I have had a Peace that the world does NOT understand. He has provided for my daughter and me in miraculous ways!! Moving from our home allowed me to get rid of some of life's "necessities" and lighten my load - a very positive (albeit occasionally tearful) experience.
I am VERY content in my circumstance, and grateful that He allowed me the chance to rely fully ON HIM. Now I get to turn the page and see what He has in mind for my Next Chapter.
My prayer is that in whatever plan comes to fruition, that I can continue to see others come to know Jesus and then be able to be intimate in relationship and experience the LOVE, PROTECTION, PROVISION, STRENGTH & POWERFUL HEALING that Our Father provides.
Until He Comes,
Joan (Eagle River, AK)
